Maya Angelou's Words of Wisdom
---
In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday.Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was "exciting." Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day...like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first. The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!
Maya Angelou said this:
"I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow."
"I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/shehandles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangledChristmas tree lights."
"I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life."
"I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as "making alife."
"I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance."
"I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitton both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back."
"I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, Iusually make the right decision."
"I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one."
"I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back"
"I've learned that I still have a lot to learn."
"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forgetwhat you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

Girlfriends

" ' i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you' "
" 'here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart'
" 'i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)' "

GoOd TiMeS!
Ferrero Rocher's are someone's best friend. A colleague at work can always be seen with an unwrapped gold wrapper or telling us she's just ate six of them...in a minute.
The consensus for how everyone spent their holidays: EATING. No wonder resolutions have to be made...or at least a more healthy start...let's just say, bad habits die hard.
Boy asks supermarathoner to help him train for the half-marathon on new year's eve, a night he was ready to get his drink on. Supermarathoner was more than willing and said that they could start with a run on new year's day. Boy quickly said with no hesitation: "NO" and walks away. Yes, training has evidently began...
"We were pretty drunk, but your drunkenness overshadowed us and your friend overshadowed you." Somewhere along the night, there was even a 'can you walk in a straight line before you get behind the wheel' test. Thinking back...that was dumb...as if a drunk person can see straight to begin with and judge you!
From said more inebriated friend after jumping out of the cab: "I lost my phone...I lost my pHONE...I LOST MY PHONE!!" It took awhile for the rest of us to register what she's going on about...hehe..unfortunately, none of us remembered what color cab we got in...
"Don't you remember? You punched me and poured your drink down my back..."
Silence at the dim sum table for the first ten minutes when the food arrives the day after new year's eve. I'm assuming everyone needed some greasy food in their system to calm their tummies besides me!
"And one time at MATH camp..." you know the rest...
"Hey, she's actually King Kong's Barbie doll!!!"
To take advantage of a nice day out, we decided to go for a "run" along the Seawall. Supermarathoner and his girlfriend marathoner started to run the entire distance while we decided to "jog" the opposite way hoping to bump into them and then turning around to meet them at the finish line. From a long distance away, we see this person running pretty darn fast and wondering if it could be supermarthoner...yah, we quickly got out of the way to let him pass.
Meeting up with some super old friends is always a hoot...especially when you realize that what you say no matter how it comes out always ends up leaving everyone in stitches. Glad some things never change.
Here's to plenty good times this year. I also like to say not to forget to cherish great friends and create wonderful memories. A wonderful friend of my inebriated friend passed away suddenly on new year's eve. I'm sure she's greatly missed, a great gal with a great heart. She's in a better place now. Here's to her!
